Lower School Enrichment

Broadening Horizons from an Early Age

At Tower College, we believe in nurturing the whole child – intellectually, socially and emotionally. In our Lower School (Years 1–6), enrichment is an essential part of the school day, designed to spark curiosity, develop confidence and provide children with opportunities to explore new interests beyond the standard curriculum.

We offer a broad range of age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, teamwork and self-expression in a fun and supportive environment. These experiences complement academic learning and help children discover their strengths from an early age.

Weekly Enrichment Opportunities

Our enrichment programme is carefully structured to ensure every pupil can participate and benefit from new experiences. Alongside the enrichment activities which are built into our weekly timetable, extra-curricular clubs and activities are scheduled during lunch breaks and after school, with something for every interest.

Timetabled activities include:

Forest School and Outdoor Learning

Each week pupils receive targeted lessons based in our outdoor classrooms where they explore our stunning grounds, learning about nature and the environment and developing a range of important life skills.

Swimming

Lessons begin in Year 3 and continue throughout Lower School developing pupils’ coordination and motor skills, promoting physical strength and fitness, supporting cognitive development and teaching essential water safety skills.

My Happy Mind

To enhance our PSHE curriculum, pupils engage in weekly ‘My Happy Mind’ sessions designed to develop positive behaviours that strengthen pupil mental health, resilience, and wellbeing.
