Our enrichment activities for Upper School pupils are designed to enhance academic and sporting excellence and develop leadership qualities, setting your child up for success both now and in the future.

Leadership and Social Awareness

Duke of Edinburgh – year 10 and 11 pupils can join the awards scheme up to Bronze level

Model United Nations (MUN) – challenging and fun public speaking and debating club, helps pupils to learn about a wide variety of important issues that affect our world. An excellent way to develop skills of public speaking, persuasion and diplomacy, as well as to socialise with pupils from different year groups.

Public Speaking – pupils can take part in public speaking and debate competitions

Rotary Interact – pupils may join the Interact Club of St. Helens where they get involved with local charity events and other worthy causes

Tower Towies – Pupils get together to discuss social and moral issues

Sporting Enrichment

Our wide range of sporting activities allow our pupils to excel in their chosen field.

Pupils can compete in the following ISA competitions:

Netball
Football
Cross-Country
Swimming
Athletics

Pupils can also take part in Rugby and join the annual Upper School Skiing trip.

Arts

School Band – the band rehearse every week and perform regularly at school events with a house music festival taking place each year (1to1 music tuition, for an instrument of their choice, is available at extra charge)

Creative Writing – pupils can develop their imaginations and skills in creative writing

Academic and life choices

GCSE booster clubs – We run booster clubs for all our GCSE subjects for Yrs 10 and 11

Further Education and Careers advice – we work in partnership with Morrisby psychometrics to help pupils make informed choices about sixth form/college education and future career aspirations
