Summer Newsletter 2017

Dear Parents

As we reach the close of another busy and successful Summer Term, we take stock of all that has been achieved and enjoyed.

There have been many valuable educational opportunities, successful trips and outstanding competitors and winners in Music, Debating, Art and Sport as well as our new success in the Physics Olympics.  Our children continue to make us proud in all that they do.

Parents have continued to be involved in the charitable aims of the school, raising funds over the year with activities ranging from refined coffee and cake afternoons to throwing wet sponges at teachers!  Our Gala Day this year raised over £1315 and various events throughout the year raised £1613.77 for Marie Curie.

This year we have said ‘goodbye’ to Mrs Childs, Mrs Sood and Mrs Bradley. We wish them all health and happiness in their new roles and retirement and thank them for all their care and commitment over the years.  Mrs Nugent will take over Mrs Bradley’s English teaching and Mrs S Griffiths (nee Alcock) will join us to teach R.E. and Geography. Miss B Green will join Pre-prep top take Year 1X to free up Mrs O’Grady’s time for admin and seeing parents.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday 5th September. Please could all new starters report to the Main Front Door for 8.45am.

Our ‘Friends of Tower College’ Society, have enjoyed various events throughout the term, and we hope to involve more parents, particularly of our older pupils as the feedback and input that we receive is very valuable.  For an annual subscription of £10 or Life membership of £100, parents, family members past pupils, and past staff may join the group which will have regular communication and special events. A membership form is enclosed.

As your child moves class, please be aware of your Head of Department, to whom any emails about your child should be directed.
