The Inspectors commented that we have well-behaved, articulate pupils, a good team of staff, a secure site, high levels of supervision and correct practices, but reported that some of our written policies had not been updated to reflect recent I.S.I. regulatory changes. The I.S.I. updates can occur several times a year, so now, an annual policy review is no longer sufficient. We had been dilatory in rewriting the policies although the Governors, staff and I are well aware of our obligations to children and parents. However, all of the policies are now completely up to date and were submitted to the ISI and Department of Education in August, immediately on receipt of the written report. These policies could not be posted on our website until they had been thoroughly reviewed, authorised and signed off by our Governors who met to finalise them on Saturday 3rd October. We are now, therefore, fully compliant in every aspect of school life.
Unfortunately, the ISI report that is in the public domain, and now on our own website (we did not wish to publish it before being able to assure parents that all matters had been fully addressed) will stand until our next Inspection. So, for the first time in my life ….I am looking forward to our next school inspection!
I am always happy to discuss any matters with parents; if you are concerned about the inspection or any other matters please do come in and see me. I know that the car park and children’s parties are often the home of rumour and gossip, but please find out the facts rather than worry unnecessarily.
