43 Tower College GCSE candidates are celebrating their success,, having beaten last year’s excellent grades by a considerable margin. Last year’s successful candidates scored 45.5% at A or A* Grade, but the class of 2010 excelled with 65% of their exams being passed at Grade A or A*. 77% of the pupils achieved 9 or more passes at A* to C, and 95% of the pupils achieved 7 or more passes at A* to C Grades. The highest scoring pupil is Peter Denno, of Eccleston, St Helens. He scored 10 A* in English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, I.T., French, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Religious Studies/Citizenship. For the third year in a row, the boys of Tower College bucked the national trend and beat the girls, with all boys achieving 8 or more A* to C grade GCSEs. Rachel Oxley |
