Tower College Diamond Anniversary Dinner, 5th April 2008
Past and current staff enjoyed an evening with the past pupils from over the years at our recent 60th Anniversary Dinner, held at the Village Hotel, Whiston on Saturday 5th April 2008, to celebrate the opening of Tower College on 6th April 1948 by the late Mr and Mrs Charles Oxley. Several of the original pupils attended – including two gentlemen who had not seen each other for fifty years – and who, despite baldness, knew each other instantly!
Marcus and Michael Oxley, Miss Oxley’s brothers, attended having also been pupils along with Mrs Avril Lynch, the Chairman of the Board of Governors, their cousin, and a former pupil. Mrs Marian Taylor and Mrs Margaret Condliffe, Governors and former pupils, were also present.
